120 ANNIVERSARY OF THE EIFFEL TOWEROn July 14, 2009 as part of annual celebrations of Bastille Day was a terrific show, dedicated to 120 anniversary of the symbol of France the Eiffel Tower. The success of the event provided a combination of video projection to the all height of the tower with the ETC Paris Company, professional fireworks and an original soundtrack created especially for the event. |
700 THOUSAND PEOPLE
Champ de Mars collected more than 700 thousand people to enjoy the show "La Tour est Belle", authored by famous Mr. Christophe Berthonneau of the Group F Company, which specializes in fireworks and pyrotechnic shows. |
Cooperation of experienced professionals guaranteed brought the expected staginess and mightiness of event. |
A graceful, almost transparent structure 320 meters high, as if composed of air, rather than metal not the easiest surface to implement quality video projection, but ETC engineers already used to solve seemingly impossible tasks! |
ETC Team, consisted of 8 persons, faced with many challenges, among them quite a tight schedule. The company is no stranger to work at public events, but this time for ETC engineers had a special responsibility: an event commissioned by the Mayor of Paris was held in their hometown, and it was supposed to go perfectly. To fill the south-western side of the Eiffel Tower was used 27 video projectors: Christie 25, 20 and 18,000 lumens, which were divided into 8 groups of 3 and 4 projectors projected images they are imposed in different formats depending on the location of the equipment at the Eiffel Tower. ETC team worked closely with the Cosmo AV Studio designers, thanks to the artistic talent of which Eiffel Tower had blossomed in different colors and come alive in its beauty. |
Programming events began a month before the holiday. ETC engineers use a universal ONLYVIEW control platform, which allows us to achieve the required degree of image distortion and perspective correction. |
The data were processed in the system of eight ONLYVIEW control computers (one for each group of projectors). Ninth computer pumped musical accompaniment and synchronized with the time-code received from the Group F management server through cable. |
The Eiffel Tower was plunged into a whirlpool of incredible video projections and pyrotechnics effects pierced his memories of the cultural and historical past of this magnificent monument. |
According to a representative of the Paris Department of Culture Mr. Stephane Chave, «despite some technical difficulties, which represents a design similar to the Eiffel Tower, for the realization of the projection, the ETC team gave us magical moments enjoying the true beauty of the monument, perfected by effect of light projection" . |
