800 ANNIVERSARY OF CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITYETC London, specializing in the creation of panoramic projection shows, participated in the celebration of 800 anniversary of Cambridge University. The company presented a 50-meter projection on the Senate Building and the Old School.The Committee on the organization of holiday festivals dedicated to this event, turned to Mr. Ross Ashton with a proposal to develop a schedule for the show. Mr. Ashton's task was by visual means to tell the story of those great ideas, concepts and discoveries that have occurred in the university. |
Mr. Ashton comments: "Work on this project was extremely exciting. Historical events and progressive ideas that borne in Cambridge changed the world. I wanted give to viewers the opportunity to get acquainted with the essence of this heritage and to demonstrate that the same genius of innovation will continue to change the face of the world and in the future. |
Nine-minute ring-closed video clip projected on the buildings located to each other at right angles. To form an open area were placed four projectors Christie S 20K. In case of bad weather for all the equipment were provided special covers developed by Mr. Paul Highfield, ETC London. |
The show includes animated clips that tell about the most famous Oxbridge – Mr. Isaac Newton and Mr. Charles Darwin.These animations were created for the event by an illustrator and former student of Downing College, Cambridge Mr. Quentin Blake. |
During the preparation of the event to the ETC team joined Mr. Michael Barry, who with the help of a special white film hid 31 arched windows of both building facades. Mr. Glen Jenkins helped to Mr. Porter to set up equipment. |
To protect manage equipment from possible bad weather control room is housed in the Senate, why Mr. Porter set additional system outside the building. He set up the projector during mounting and rehearsals, while keeping an eye to both systems are fully synchronized. |
Position of the projector can also be adjusted from the inner panel by sending a signal to the ONLYVIEW master computer via Wi-Fi. |
